Support for Dashon

Dashon is a kindhearted young man with a positive outlook on life. He is compassionate and thoughtful of others. He loves to make his family and friends laugh. He has a passion for helping others spiritually, physically and mentally. He would love to help people through physical therapy or counseling. He is a talented artist who loves sketching and drawing. He enjoys producing music in his spare time. He loves animals and nature.

Since the age of seven, Dashon has been suffering from unexplained abdominal and joint pain, unexplained weight loss, and debilitating migraines. After years of repeated diagnostic testing, he finally received a diagnosis for the chronic illness. He showed determination and dedication to successfully graduate from high school through the Home and Hospital program. His teachers admired his perseverance, talents and academic strengths. Additionally, he was able to successfully complete an internship at University of Maryland Rehabilitation & Orthopedic Institute.

Unexpectedly on June of 2020 after a visit to the Orthopedic doctor and a MRI he was diagnosed with a hip impingement and Labrum tear of the right hip which requires surgery. The physical therapy that followed provided temporary relief, however he continued to experience excruciating back and hip pain that affects his mobility, often resulting in days spent resting in bed. Daily activities are limited because of the persistent debilitating pain. He needs to have Labral reconstruction and Cam (Femoral) Osteoplasty.

Dashon is scheduled to have hip surgery in late 2021 in Arlington, Virginia. We are hoping that this procedure will provide some relief and improve his quality of life. Funds are needed to cover the expenses for travel, hospital bills, doctor visits, equipment and extensive physical therapy. We would greatly appreciate any assistance regarding this matter.
